But with the economy not looking that good, how can we manage to make our home a dream house without spending too much? Here are some home decoration tips on a budget.

Lighting can make or break a mood. For guests, entering a room with cozy lights create warmth and welcome them in. While, people entering a room in total darkness or blinding lights may totally appall your visitors. You can use candles,  that is one idea. You can get votive candles which are available in bulk packs of 50 to 100. Just be sure to pick out those candles with aluminum bottom, since it will contain the wax.

You do not have to buy the expensive candle holders that stores sell. You can use shot glasses, saucers, plates or even coffee mugs. Having candles around the house will create an inviting and calming environment.

Aromas can also transform people’s moods and their reception of a room. You can use incense which is readily available in different scents. When using an incense, make sure that you have a holder to avoid risk of fires.

There are also room deodorizers like scented candles and scented oils that you just need to plug into an electrical outlet. Just avoid putting to much aroma and mixing and mismatching smells. You want to create a fine mood not headaches and allergic reactions.

Always remember that less is more. Lessen your clutter. Organize your things into baskets or put them away in storage. Throw away things that are no longer necessary. Things that may still be put into use can be donated to charitable organizations.

For bedroom renovation, what can be simpler than changing your bed sheets. When choosing new sheets, check the thread number. The higher the number, the softer and silkier it is. You can buy multi-colored sheets because it can blend with any color of the room.

A room can always have a new look by changing the cabinets. It can be re-stained or re-painted to make them look attractive. You can also change the connectors or knobs of  the cabinets. You would make your room look roomier and modern by removing the doors off your wood or Formica cabinets.

Painting your walls need not be expensive. You can just paint a portion of the wall to complement the other colors in the room. Or you can just put contrasting color in key areas of the room like in the windows and doorways.

Another way of giving your room a new and polished look is by re-arranging your furniture. Furniture that you are not using can be put away in storage, while other furniture in the storage room can be used.

There are limitless ways to redesign your room with minimal cost. You can change your pillow cases or slipovers to give the room a different look. Home decoration is an easy way to do, as long as you explore your imagination and creativity.
